Wildlife Wednesday

I was going to make this a Wordless Wednesday post, but decided to make it a Wildlife Wednesday post instead.

There's something in this photo other than the volunteer sunflower just coming in to bloom, the tropical milkweed, the rampant spearmint and the last few blooms of the Star Jasmine.

If you can see it, post in the comments below. (you can click on the photo to see a larger version if necessary)

Words and photographs by Jayne Wilson, Green and Serene, Jayne's Country Garden.

Is that japonica up in the top right-hand corner?

I spy a cute little mouse!

Yes Misti! Well spotted :-) I know I'm trying to encourage wildlife in my garden but field mice weren't quite what I had in mind. They have actually burrowed a nest in a hanging basket of fuschias, would you believe. Oh, and there's another one in the whiskey barrel planter at the end of the garden.

Yes, I see the little mouse.

Sweet little mouse. I run into them occasionally in my garden, too - more often in my garden shed. They don't really cause me any grief and they likely provide food for some of my predators.
